Classic vs. Freeform

Did you know that there are different styles of balloons decor?  Freeform, also known as organic, and Classic. When you're browsing my website you might notice that freeform is more expensive than classic decor.  Let's talk about the differences and the pros and cons of each type of decor, and when and why you might choose one type over another.

Classic

When you choose classic, you'll receive a design that only uses one size of balloons.  This predictability in size make very precise and visually pleasing balloon decor.  From spiral columns and arches to sculptures that require precise sizing: classic is called classic for a reason.  It is a reliable method to get a uniform symmetrical result!

Freeform

Freeform, otherwise known as organic, is a beautiful art form in itself. The use of 3 or more different sized balloons in the same piece offers a texture and depth that is completely different from a classic look.  This allows for a fluid arrangement that suits each space, and never ends up the same way twice.  Any color palette can be used in freeform, but most of the beautiful images you'll see on instagram are muted tones and matte colors.   The use of multiple sizes means more time has to go into creating this look.  And the quantity of balloons per foot is higher in freeform, so the product cost is higher as well.

Personal Preference

As a client you will likely prefer the look of one over another.  But each balloon designer also has a favorite!  Some times one style comes easier, and you'll notice that their portfolio favors one more than the other.  I love organic for being forgiving.  If a balloon pops in transit, it's easy to cover a bare spot with the other balloons and no one will notice.  But at the same time, I love classic for creating easy to follow patterns that act like a base for tons of creativity.
